Beautiful lobby at The Waldoboro Inn

Located in mid-coast Maine, The Waldoboro Inn is an Italianate mansion built in 1880 by Captain John B. Stahl, one of Waldoboro's illustrious ship captains who sailed the coast bringing timber, granite and ice to ports south.

Once a bustling shipbuilding center, the town of Waldoboro was known for the five-masted schooner and now has a vibrant farming community and some of the best clam flats in the State of Maine.

Designed to engage our guests, the rooms are carefully curated with contemporary art and unique furnishings.

The character and ambiance of this historic 19th-century Inn inspire one to stay awhile.

The three large bedrooms in the original mansion feature queen-beds, en-suite baths and air-conditioning. All the rooms are light-filled and airy, looking out on gardens that have been lovingly maintained over many years. Connect over a game of pool in our classic billiard room or find a comfortable spot to read a book.

Between May-October, the mansion's original carriage house has been converted into a wine bar, named “Ida’s”, after Captain Stahl’s entrepreneurial daughter-in-law. Offering both natural and traditional wines from around the world.

From November-April, Ida’s is located indoors. During the chilly months our pool table, food pop-ups, weekly events, and cozy seating offer a great place to relax and have fun.

Winter Hours 5-9pm

Ida’s Wine Bar is the perfect venue for guests to wind down their day or prepare for the evening ahead.
